The Adaptec 2820SA Serial ATA II RAID PCI-X card is an eight-port controller that supports SAS, SATA or SATA II disk drives. It features the Adaptec AIC-8210 SATA RAID-on-Chip (ROC) ASIC and Adaptec RAID Code (ARC) with standard RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50. Providing 128 MB ECC-protected DDR DRAM, the 2820SA provides a data transfer rate of up to 3 Gbps per port. It features a 64-bit/133 MHz PCI-X host interface that enables each controller to connect up to eight SAS or SATA drives. The included Adaptec Storage Manager (ASM) tool centralizes management of all Adaptec RAID products. Furthermore it also enables remote RAID management, monitoring, and configuration through secure and encrypted communication. With all these features and more the 8-port Serial ATA II controller delivers enhanced performance for servers and workstations.
