The Nortel Networks Contivity 600 switch is excellent for branch offices and small businesses that need to be interconnected via managed IP VPNs. The switch provides scalable, secure, manageable extranet access for up to 30 simultaneous users across the Public Data Network (PDN). It combines routing, firewall, bandwidth management, remote access protocols, security, authentication, authorization, and encryption technologies into a single solution. It allows an individual user or group of users to be associated with a set of attributes that provide custom access to an extranet. The Contivity 600 switch provides 128 MB of RAM standard in a compact desktop unit, hardened to withstand the temperature and humidity ranges possible in unregulated customer-premise locations.
