Ideal for use in data centers, the Dragon GIG Network Sensor Appliance from Enterasys offers a powerful network intrusion defense system that identifies misuse and attacks across the network. It incorporates a multi-faceted threat detection engine to stop offenders from entering the network. With pattern matching, protocol analysis and anomaly-based techniques, the device easily identifies attacks. Additionally, application-based event detection detects non-signature-based attacks against commonly targeted applications including HTTP, RPC and FTP. The Dragon GIG features two Gigabit Copper ports and four Gigabit fiber ports to deliver maximum data transfer rates of 1000 Mbps. It also features 1 GB of memory and a 36 GB hard drive.
