DAIKATANA By Ion Storm 95/98/WME
It is the year 2455 C.E. and you are Hiro Miyamoto, a student of Dr. Toshiro Ebihara and an expert in Japanese warfare. One of Toshiro Ebiharas ancestors, Dr. Tetsuo Ebihara, was responsible for discovering the cure for AIDS over 400 years earlier in 2030 C.E. This discovery brought great wealth to the Ebihara family and to the following generations. This wealth enables Toshiro to finance archaelogical expeditions in search of a mystical Daikatana. During these expeditions Toshiro is accompanied by his assistant Kage Mishima. After years of searching they ultimately discover the Daikatana in the caverns of Mt. Fujiyama. Eventually Dr. Ebihara and Mishima learn that the power of the mighty Daikatana can be used for time travel. However Mishima has grown tired of living in Dr. Ebiharas shadow and is envious of his fortune. The jealous assistant betrays Dr. Ebihara, beheads him with the Daikatana, and travels back to the year 2030 C.E. Once there, Mishima kills Dr. Tetsuo Ebihara and claims the discovery of the cure for AIDS for himself. As a result of this Kage Mishima becomes extremely wealthy and he constructs a fortress to protect the Daikatana. Dr. Toshiro Ebiharas daughter, Mikiko Ebihara, learns of this tragedy and comes to you for help. She convinces you to join her in the quest to regain the mystical Daikatana, avenge her fathers death and set history straight.
