The 24-Port Passport 1624G Switch from Nortel Networks is a fixed-port, hardware-based Layer 3 Routing Switch that provides resiliency, performance and security to both the wiring closet and network core in a 1U high design. It provides connections for gigabit Ethernet aggregation as well as 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity. This Routing Switch provides increased reliability for the network core. Multi-layer support and redundant power supplies ensure optimum availability critical for bandwidth sensitive and revenue generating applications. Support for SMLT and MLT supplies redundant load sharing connections to one or more desktop switches. Resiliency is addressed at multiple layers across the entire network ensuring optimum availability of resources and low downtime.
