The Avocent AMX5000 8x32 KVM Switch is designed to support multi-platform server environments. It supports PS/2 and Sun server platforms and provides non-blocked access. The AMX5000's highly scalable architecture can easily support up to 8 users and up to 32 servers throughout the data center. The CAT-5 design and video technology eliminates bulky cabling connections and delivers real-time, high bandwidth video for KVM switching up to 1000 feet away from the server. The AMX5000 is equipped with OSCAR interface which allows you to use your keyboard or mouse to select any attached system computer. The AMX5000 comes with AMWorks, a Java-based system administration tool, which supports customized user profiles and multi-level security. Using AMWorks, administrators can view all activities that take place on the KVM system, including user login, switches made to servers and changes made to the system connections or setup.
