The DWL-P1012 12-Port AirPremier Power over Ethernet Midspan from D-Link is specifically designed for business-class environments seeking to add secure and manageable power over LAN options. This Midspan converts standard 110-240 VAC power into low-voltage DC that runs over existing LAN cabling (CAT5 or better) to power up 802.3af-compliant network accessories. It features 12 integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports capable of supplying up to 15.4 watts of power per port. With a 1U 19-inch form factor, adding the DWL-P1012 to a network switch rack is a straightforward process. This device boasts intelligent PoE awareness by virtue of which it verifies that the network device receiving power is 802.3af compliant; otherwise, only data will be sent through the Ethernet wire.
