The IPC2 remote power switch allows you to turn on, turn off or reboot connected equipment. The unit contains six individual relay controlled AC power receptacles that are controlled by sending a short character string (command). The IPC2 is accessed via an RS-232 control port. This port can be connected to any serial device controller (2+2, SDC2, SDC4) or SHPro. The IPC2 supports commands for receptacle control and status. These commands include: on, off, config, reboot and status. The unit provides a response to indicate that the commands were acknowledged and completed. In the event of a power failure to the unit itself, the IPC2 retains the most current operational status for each outlet in non-volatile memory. When the IPC2 regains power, it restores each outlet to those status settings. The power-up routine to each receptacle is performed sequentially to minimize power surges.
