The FSW-3208M is an 8 port 10/100/1000Mbps copper switch with 2 SFP Giga Ethernet slots for fiber optic connections. The switch has Layer 2 capabilities and has a WebSmart management interface. All copper ports support auto-negotiation of speed and detection of straight/crossover cable connections through the auto MDI/MDIX capability. The switch is offering Quality of Service (QoS) and VLAN support, both well needed in an FTTB or FTTH project. The QoS works either based on the IEEE 802.1q protocol or applies Port based or Weighted Priority policies to control and prioritize data traffic on Triple Play bandwidth demanding applications.
